Childhood memories

In Lebanon, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the first day of spring. When I was just four years old, my dad wrote a poem for Mother’s Day. My mom turned that poem into a song for me to perform at our school's Mother’s Day event. I was shy and nervous, but my mom encouraged me and promised to make me a beautiful white dress for the occasion. That was all the motivation I needed to sing. Since the microphone was too big for me, a teacher brought in a chair for me to stand on while I sang. This memory is dear to me because it reminds me of the support and encouragement I received, helping me overcome my shyness. It filled me with pride and a sense of achievement. Now, my nieces and nephews are learning the same song to perform at their own school's Mother’s Day celebrations.
